Pablo is an associate of record producer Timbaland (whose most famous collaborator remains Missy Elliott), who had hoped to sign the rapper to his Beat Club label, but by the time he was ready to begin negotiations, Pablo had already signed with Jive Records. He made his first professional recordings in 2000 for number of album tracks for the second Timbaland & Magoo album, ''Indecent Proposal'', which was delayed for release by Blackground Records until late 2001, after Pablo had already become a success on his own.
