Mazzy Star was a dream pop band formed in 1989 amidst the ashes of a band called Opal, a collaboration of David Roback (ex-Rain Parade) and Kendra Smith (of Dream Syndicate fame). Mazzy Star is probably best known for the song "Fade Into You," which brought the band some success in the mid-1990s and was dream pop's biggest mainstream hit.
