My heart was truly broken, when I got home last night
That sweet girl that I loved, was in bed with my best friend
He said “I would have told you but, you’re my best friend”

I was heading down the street, my head was in a twirl
I bumped into the sheriff and told him about my girl
He said “listen hear young fella, I’ve been with that lady too
And so have all my deputies and that makes quite a few”
I went to see my doctor my brain was fit to burst
I told him my story He said “It just gets worse”
She came round here this morning and took me on the floor
She did the same again three times and then came back for more

I went to see my Mamma and told her what she’d done

When I was at her age I was just the same

But when she got into my bed last night (Sudden stop) 5 bars of silence
