Survivor is a rock band formed in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. Jim Peterik was the former lead vocalist in the band Ides of March, and co-wrote the Sammy Hagar song "Heavy Metal". Dave Bickler, Gary Smith and Dennis Johnson were temporary members, until they were replaced by Stephan Ellis and Marc Droubay.The group are very popular in their native land, the United States, where they have charted a dozen top 20 hit singles.
