British folk rock bassist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, bandleader and producer.
Born : January 26, 1945 in Southgate, Middlesex, England.
Hutchings was a founding member (1968) of the legendary "Fairport Convention" with which he remained until the release of their fourth album "Lieg and Lief" (1969) after he left Fairport to found (1970) the "Steeleye Span", another folk group English rock destined to write the musical history of the British electric folk, abandoned even the "Steeleye Span" Hutchings formed the "Albion Country Band" which released the album "No Roses" in 1971.
In 1972, Ashley attended (with some musicians of Albion and Fairport) the registration of the seminal album "Morris On".
