matchbox twenty (originally Matchbox 20) is a modern rock band from Orlando, Florida. The current members of the band are Rob Thomas, vocals; Brian Yale, bass; Paul Doucette, drums; and Kyle Cook, lead guitar. Thomas, Yale and Doucette had played the band Tabitha's Secret in Orlando, Florida before splitting apart to form Matchbox 20 with Gaynor and Cook.They released their first album, ''yourself or someone like you'' in 1996.
