Joan Osborne (born July 8, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter originally from Anchorage, Kentucky (now part of Louisville). After moving to New York City in the early 1990s, Osborne formed her own record label, Womanly Hips, to release a few independent recordings before signing to Mercury Records. Her first album was ''Relish'', which became a hit due to the single "One of Us".
