Jae-P is a Mexican rapper. Born Juan Pablo Huerta in Jalisco, Mexico on May 24, 1984, Jae-P is the son of Mexican immigrants. Both of his parents were originally from the southern part of Mexico. Growing up in South-Central L.A., Jae-P heard his parents playing Mexican norte?o, banda, ranchera, tejano and mariachi and other Mexican music at home but heard hip-hop and R&B in the streets. Jae-P was 18 when, in 2002, he signed with Univision Records. The label released his debut album "Ni De Aqu?, Ni De All?" (Neither From Here Nor There) in 2003, which sold 100,000 units and earned him a gold plaque for Latin CD sales. Univision Records also released Jae-P's next 3 albums, "Esperanza" (Hope) in 2004, "Pa Mi Raza" (For My People) in 2006 and "Atrevete" (I Dare You) in 2007.
