Genitallica

LyricsGGenitallica LyricsBiography

Genitallica is a band from Monterrey, Nuevo Le?n, M?xico.

Musical Proposition

According to the band's MySpace page, its musical proposition is to fuse different styles (e.g. reggae, punk, ska, rock, hip hop, funk, mariachi, and tambora). It claims its lyrics are direct and simple, as the youth street language has made Genitallica's fanbase grow exponentially.

History

Genitallica was formed in early November 1998. In 1999 it was signed by Sony Music.

Genitallica has released two records and seven singles: "Imagina", "?Qu? fu? lo que pas??", "Chiquitita", "Todos Tomados", "Borracho", "No Tengo Amigos", "Pr?ndelo" and "Trasero", in which Banda el Recodo takes part.

Its first record was a co-production with Barret Jones, who also worked on projects with Nirvana and The Foo Fighters. Its second record was a co-production with Scott Ralston, who has worked for bands such as 311, No Doubt and Kiss.

The band has toured in several countries: Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, the United States and Puerto Rico, with two big tours: ?Tu lechita y a dormir? Its songs and videos are transmitted via radio and television (Mtv Latin America, TeleHit, Htv, AXN, Puma TV, Much Music, Otro Rollo, etc.) in Mexico, Spain, United States and Central and South America.

Genitallica has been on stage with other bands, such as Blur, Cafe Tacuba, Control Machete, Resorte, Molotov, Inspector, El Gran Silencio, Illia Kuryaki and the Valderramas, A.N.I.M.A.L. and, in its recent visit to Mexico, with Kiss. Additionally, Genitallica have taken part in numerous radio festivals all over America.

The band is currently preparing the release of its third record, recorded at The Box Studios, on Mazatlan, a record studio that is part of their new record label, Box Records. The album is co-produced by Genitallica and producer Mauricio Garza.
