Ernie K-Doe (, 1936 - , 2001), was an African American rhythm and blues singer. Early career Born Ernest Kador, Jr., in New Orleans, Louisiana, K-Doe is perhaps best known for colorful personality and his 1961 hit song, Allen Toussaint's "Mother-In-Law," which went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
