Andain is a San Francisco-based musical group founded in 2002. Group members are Josh Gabriel, Mavie Marcos (vocalist and songwriter) and David Penner (guitarist).
History
The group performs a mix of trance, rock, house and World music. Andain's songs combine live instruments and vocals blended with elements of electronica. The group's first release was the single Summer Calling in 2002 under Black Hole Recordings. Andain's most successful song to date is the trance single "Beautiful Things" released under Black Hole Records in 2003. The track was included in DJ Ti?sto's album, Nyana and has since spawned several remixes. Andain subsequently appeared on Gabriel & Dresden's compilation "Bloom" with "Here is the House", a cover of a track by Depeche Mode.
The group recorded new songs in 2002 for its debut album, but for unforeseen reasons, the music was never released. The status of Andain is unknown but believed to be disbanded.
